Planting Bulbs with Miss LouLou...
Miss LouLou loves some her some pretty flowers!
We were able to plant a few bulbs in the fall where an old board had been lying making the ground soft.
The rest of the bulbs stayed the winter in a cool dark closet.
So Miss LouLou and I planted them the other day in the softer spring ground.
They may or may not come up next year, but we enjoyed our time together anyway!

Movie Stars
Our house full of little actors and actresses wanted to star in a movie about the Civil War.
Every time we read something interesting in history we have a movie waiting to be made.
Those boys have been loving our study of the Civil War time period.
So I had to take a break from regular duties and film a movie...

Happy Birthday Mr. Ten-year-old!
I can hardly believe this young man is ten!
This year you didn't want a big party for your birthday...
you just wanted to fish.
So we took off for a long weekend to our Uncles and fish we did!
and rode 4-wheelers and Kubotas
and played hide and seek in the big old barn
and watched you all get nasty sliding down the lime pile
and jumping on the hay bales
What a fun time!!!
Uh-Oh is little brother showing you up?
Wow...look at that fish! You caught some big ones too...I just happened to have my camera for his big catch!
One day you'll teach little brother all about it, but for know he likes wagon rides...
Miss Little Bitty really was a very patient fisherman, but no fish this time for her...
breakfast in the swing...
sisters playing on the trampoline...
What a fun tenth birthday weekend!
We love you big brother!!!

Crawfish Fun
A trip to the creek in the cool springtime always results in the boys bringing home a few critters.
This trip they found a crawfish and salamander.
The boys were excited with the size of this crawfish.
After a cold winter they were ready to draw in their nature notebooks too.
